Apple announces biggest Fitness+ expansion ever with help from AI

Apple has announced that its Fitness+ digital workout service will expand to more than two dozen additional markets next week. The move more than doubles the footprint for Apple Fitness+, and generative AI is helping to make it possible.

With one exception, Fitness+ will come online in the new markets in one week on Monday, December 15. Japan will follow in early 2026, Apple says.

Apple says it will use “a generated voice” to digitally dub content in three languages.

Additionally, Apple Fitness+ is gaining K-Pop as a music genre for workouts.

Apple VP of Fitness Technologies Jay Blahnik also makes an appearance in the press release.

Here’s the full list of countries and regions where Apple Fitness+ is available or will be available following today’s news:

The news comes after a report that claims the future of Fitness+ is “under review” at Apple following a leadership shuffle.

Apple Fitness+ in the U.S. costs $9.99/month or $79.99/year for up to six people through Family Sharing. The digital workout service is also included in Apple One Premiere for $37.95/month alongside Apple’s five other services including Apple Music and Apple TV.

Fitness+ works best with an Apple Watch to enable viewing personal metrics during a workout, although it’s not required. The service is available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV 4K. You can also AirPlay content to an AirPlay-compatible device.
